Lava Chairside Oral Scanner C.O.S. from 3M ESPE

New technology that allows us to capture impressions for crown and bridges digitally.  This impressive new technology makes the impression process much more comfortable to our patients and results in precise accuracy in the final restoration(s).

VELscope® Oral Cancer Screening

Oral cancer strikes three times as many victims as cervical cancer.  It is one of the few types of cancer that has not seen a significant reduction in incidence over the past thirty years, and recent research has shown a strong association with Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), which can be sexually transmitted.  For this reason, many oral health care professionals now believe that all individuals over the age of 18 should have at least an annual comprehensive oral examination, and ideally at every dental hygiene visit.

As a dentist, oral cancer is of big concern to Dr. James Erlandson and he makes patient screenings a priority. Early detection of oral cancer provides patients with the best chance for a successful recovery. That is why our practice employs the use of the VELscope® Device, an FDA-approved technology that screens patients for oral cancer. This procedure is a powerful, new laser we use at our office for early detection and diagnosis of tooth decay. Digital Intraoral Cameras

This procedure is a revolutionary diagnostic dental tool we use at our practice to identify potential problems using a camera small enough to photograph the inside of your mouth. The images of your mouth are then displayed on a computer screen, allowing you to see what the dentist sees! This procedure saves time and makes problems easily visible to both patient and doctor. Digital X-Rays

Our practice uses the most advanced digital dental X-rays to take pictures of your teeth. While the risk of radiation damage from normal X-rays is already small, digital X-rays limit exposure by 90 percent, enhancing your safety significantly. To take a digital X-ray of your teeth, we insert a tiny camera into your mouth. The X-rays are then instantly transmitted to a computer screen, where the doctor will review them with you. Midwest Comfort Control™: Computer-Controlled Anesthetic Delivery System

Your comfort and safety is the number one concern at our office. This is why we now offer the Comfort Control Syringe (CCS) from Dentsply Professional. Comfort Control is a computer-controlled anesthetic delivery system that dispenses the local anesthesia with more controlled and consistency than a traditional syringe. The steady delivery of anesthesia minimizes discomfort for our St. Paul patients and adds to the safety of our office.
